About me

The Slovak baritone Matúš Mazár completed his studies in opera singing at the Košice Conservatory under the guidance of his teacher Marián Lukáč. During his time as a student, he began his collaboration with the Košice State Theater, where he made his debut as the Hunter in Antonín Dvořák's Rusalka. Later, he also appeared as Marco in Giacomo Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Marullo in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto, and as the Marchese d'Obigny in La Traviata.

He obtained his Bachelor's degree at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under the tutelage of Roman Janál. During this period, he also performed as Yamadori in Madame Butterfly at the State Opera in Prague. In various productions in Prague, he took on additional roles, including Papageno in The Magic Flute, Tevere and Genius in Costanza e Fortezza, and Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia.

Matúš Mazár continued his education with a Master's degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under the guidance of KS Elisabeth Wilke. He has been honored with awards at several singing competitions, including the Musica Sacra competition in Rome, where he won the "Giovane Promessa" (Young Promise) award as the youngest participant.

In addition, he regularly participates in masterclasses and coaching sessions to further develop his musical talent.
